Abel Idowu Olayinka is a professor of Geophysics whose treatise and research have been instrumental in the body of academic and professional discourses in Geophysics. He was educated at University of Ibadan between 1977 and 1981 where he bagged B.Sc. (2nd Class honours, Upper Division) in Geology and at Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine, University of London, United Kingdom (1983-1984) where he was awarded M.Sc. in Geophysics, and also a Diploma of Membership of Imperial College in 1984.
University of Ibadan Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka has handsomely rewarded a UI 200-level Geography student who made an artistic impression of the VC's picture just as the UI boss challenged the youths to direct their energies into productive engagements that can make their lives better.
